What's the Easiest Way to Complete Traffic School in Florida?

Getting pulled over is never a fun experience. But if you got your citation in Florida, you might have an option to at least minimize the fallout from it. In some cases, you have the option to complete traffic school to avoid getting points added to your license and to help minimize the risk of a car insurance rate increase.

Traffic school might sound like it will be just as big of a hassle as your ticket, but that’s actually not the case. In 2021, knocking out your driving school can be more convenient than you might have ever imagined. Here’s the easiest way to complete traffic school in Florida to get your ticket dismissed, avoid getting points on your license, and potentially avoid more expensive car insurance.

Take Florida traffic school online

The number one thing you can do to make traffic school easier on yourself is to take it online. That way, you’ll be able to knock out the four required hours without heading to a specific location at a specific time — and sitting in some uncomfortable chair while someone lectures at you.

Before you jump into an online Florida traffic school, double-check that your education provider has approval from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV). Only driver improvement courses completed with an FLHSMV-approved school will count toward the court’s requirement.

Choose on-demand basic driver improvement courses

Beat for beat, all Florida basic driver improvement courses are going to be pretty similar because the FLHSMV has specific requirements about what the four hours of traffic school need to cover. But that doesn’t mean all traffic schools are the same.

Some providers let you take your course hours at your own pace. That means you don’t need to carve a huge four-hour chunk out of your schedule. Have a few minutes between meetings? Having trouble sleeping? Feeling bored on your lunch break? With on-demand traffic school, you can work on knocking out your hours whenever your schedule has some space in it.

Look for mobile-friendly traffic school

Since certain Florida traffic school providers let you complete your course when it’s most convenient for you, you want to be able to chip away at your hours whenever you’ve got a spare moment. And that’s possible thanks to mobile-friendly Florida driver improvement courses.

With this option, you can take your course on your phone or tablet. As long as you have an internet connection, you have what you need to make progress toward your driver improvement course completion.

We’ve worked to make it as easy as possible to finish your Florida traffic school, but we unfortunately can’t do much to help you with the last step. Although we report your course completion to the FLHSMV, you still need to present your certificate of completion to the clerk’s office in whichever county your citation was issued. Different counties have different requirements, so check in with that clerk to see what they’ll need to put your driver improvement course on the books.

Still, though, because finishing your traffic school hours was pretty convenient, you should have plenty of time and energy to jump over this last hurdle.
